9-13 September 2024. Student-led conferences differ from the traditional parent/teacher interviews. Students participate in all stages of the conference. They prepare and organise work samples, use checklists to demonstrate new learning, and plan next steps. Students lead the conversation to show what they have learned.
At a thorough student-led conference, students should discuss not only their academic achievements but also social and emotional progress. Outlining short- and long-term goals in different areas can also act as a motivator and help set benchmarks for the next conference.
These conferences provide an opportunity for parents to actively engage in their child's education
