Earlier this term, students participated in an excursion to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens to observe a range of plants used by Indigenous Australians. Some plants are useful in the way they can be made into items such as baskets and mats, while other plants provide an important source of food. Mount Barker Primary School and our local Bunnings are running a program with some students. As part of the program, Bunnings' team members are onsite to educate participants to use basic tools correctly, and safely with this fun hands on experience!

During Science Week, students visited the Mount Barker library to participate in an educational and engaging show by Animals Anonymous. Emily entertained students with a range of interesting facts, as well as opportunities to get up close with many cute and cuddly critters. On 10th November we were lucky enough to be visited by Minister for Education, Blair Boyer, MP. Blair came to visit our site with local MP, Dan Cregan. Our Year 6 students gave Blair and Dan and tour of our new facilities and spoke about why Mount Barker Primary is a world leading school in the Adelaide Hills area.
