Our Learning Through Play Program at MBPS provokes children's curiosity, promotes their creative thinking and encourages problem solving. It's about students understanding they can have choice in their learning opportunities based on their interests and passions. This basis of student agency reflects that your child has control of their development with support of our incredible and experienced Early Years teachers.

Daily play activities are linked to children's interests and learning needs, presenting authentic opportunities to develop students' literacy and numeracy skills. Examples may include role playing, dress ups, construction and creating inventions, designing new ideas and recording outcomes, gardening and responsibilities for living things such as our school's pet chickens.

Play is valued at MBPS as a positive influence on students' social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.

Learning Through Play is run every afternoon in our Early Years environment for our Reception to Year 2 students. Peer mentors regularly join the activities for further mentorship and social benefits.
