WHAT IS A SERVICE PROVIDER?

Service providers are professionals that specialize in communication, functional development, often working together to provide holistic care. Some service providers could be:

  • Occupational Therapists (OT): Focus on building skills for daily living, sensory processing, fine motor skills, and functional independence.
  • Physiotherapists: Improve mobility, strength, and physical function.
  • Psychologists/Behavior Specialists: Assist with emotional, cognitive, and social difficulties, often using positive behaviour support.
  • Developmental Educators: Support skill development, community participation, and independence.

We encourage a holistic approach to supporting student development.  If you wish to engage with a therapist during the school day, please contact the Admin Office in the first instance.

INFORMATION FOR SERVICE PROVIDERS WANTING TO COME TO MBPS

For a service provider to be able to be on site there are a number of prerequisites that need to occur, one being a full site induction which can be completed online.

Due to the limited space we have on site and regulations which state that service providers need to be in the line of sight of a Department of Education employee, we encourage sessions to take place in the classroom or a shared area and after 1.40pm.  This assists our teaching staff to observe and gain skills which will assist that student on a long term basis and also prioritises core learning which takes place in the morning sessions.

Should you wish to engage a service provider to work collaboratively with us please contact the Admin Office.
